I'm having a very frustrating situation. Didn't even realize the 2 requests were open until I checked my seller panel.
Basically, I was selling individual sealed packs from an open box of basketball cards. Both the title, subtitle (I paid more for this) and actual description stated the auction is for ONE SEALED PACK from the box...not the box itself. Even the quantity available for the auction (6) matched the number of packs contained in the box, and written on the front of the box.
I also clearly stated no returns on the auction, due to the nature of the product...which can potentially be swapped with identical packs from another box or tampered and returned.
The individual cited a return on the grounds of 'item didn't match description,' with note 'I thought it was for a box not a pack - not happy' which it clearly did...multiple times. I have a feeling either he swapped the packs of simply had buyer's remorse, and found a better deal elsewhere because there's no way he could have purchased not 1, but 2 of these items without reading a single thing in the title or descrption.
My question is...do I have potential recourse with Ebay here? If I ask ebay to step in instead of accepting the return, do I have a chance since it's so obvious that the items clearly did match the description and this was either buyer's remorse or neglect?
Looking for any possible help or personal experiences. You can see the box in my listed items. Please tell me if anything in that description was vague or confuses you.
Thanks in advance!

I'm very sorry this happened but there isn't much you can do. You have to accept an item not as described return or eBay will mark this against you on your account. It doesn't matter if your listing was clearly written because buyers do not read anymore, they scan the listings now. This isn't about you doing anything wrong or making an error so don't take this personally. Unfortunately for you the buyer will get the case in their favor.
Your not accepting returns has no bearing if you read the rules. The MBG of eBay supersedes any sellers own rules. That is the price we pay in order to sell using eBay's service.
Accept the return, send the buyer a return label and hope you get your cards back so that you can resell them. Best of luck to you....

No, eBay is not going to help you, and asking them to "step in and help" is only going to make it worse for you.
Once a buyer hits the "not as described" button, it matters not if the item is exactly as described. It doesn't matter what your return policy might be.

Your auction was clear about receiving 1 pack but you made the mistake of having 5 pics of an unopened box. You would have been better off using a stock photo of 1 pack.

Agreed. Your picture must exactly match what the buyer is seeing. If the picture has 5 of the item (even to show variety) then it's already Not as Described.
Always post photos as if you can not write any other description or information. Always right your description as if you can't have photos. Ensure there is not a single discrepency between the photos and the listing information.

These were exactly the type of attitudes eBay is being successful.... in attracting scammers
Go eBay !!!

Seriously.
Picture what you are selling. If it is in the picture that is what people expect to get. It isn't an "attitude", it just how it has been from the beginning. People do not read carefully. That is a given. Avoid situations that are just begging to be misunderstood.

Thank you all, lesson learned. I should have known some people don't bother to read and go strictly by pictures. Appreciate the input, I've accepted his return and hope he gives back exactly what I sold him (I shall video tape the opening of the parcel just in case).

In their defense... you can't really blame the buyer when ALL of the pictures on the listing showed the full box rather than the pack. Why WOULDN'T they expect to receive what was in the pictures?

Save your time. A tape of that is meaningless to eBay.
