The greatest majority of my sales have been to buyers who don't leave any feedback.
Do you think these buyers even care whether or not a seller leaves one?
Makes no real difference, of course, since it would have to be positive.
I'm tempted to just not bother for these buyers.
. If I leave one for every buyer...for instance 100...but only receive 10, do you think it looks like the other 90 weren't totally satisfied?
It stinks for a newer seller not to get any since a higher amount of positives suggests reliability to other buyers that check

I think we all experience the fact that a majority of our Buyers fail to leave feedback. I too find that fact as annoying, but there isn't anything we can do about it. And certainly, I don't expect that eBay is doing anything about it.......such as leaving them an annoying little message (like we get IF we fail to leave feedback on a shipped item....hint....hint...hint) when the item as been arrived (which their software knows....) and the Buyer has as yet failed to leave feedback. Of course, one can only guess what that would mean if all Buyers were 'forced' (via that annoying message...) to leave feedback. I track shipped items for 90 days.....after that, I just mark my file as "NONE RECEIVED", and move on with life.

Oh gash! I don't keep track. If none received within, oh, a few days, I assume there isn't going to be any.
I only sort of keep it in mind so as to feel comfortable that there was noting wrong, which I figure would come pretty quickly.

< Do you think these buyers even care whether or not a seller leaves one >
If I'm trying to decide between two sellers, and all other things are about equal, I'll purchase from the seller with the best record of giving feedback for her/his buyers. And I practice what I preach ... at this writing I have made 1,454 purchases and have given 1,453 feedback. There's one less, because my time expired while the seller and I were working out a problem.
Some members say that feedback should be eliminated altogether. They do not speak for me; I like to give feedback and I like to get it, too. Their argument is that, since buyers can receive only positive feedback, feedback serves no purpose and is essentially meaningless. You might say that those ceramic turtles that my mother used to collect served no purpose and were meaningless, but they were meaningful to her.

This has been asked many times, but let me be the one to ask again.
As a buyer............................. why do you need.............. any ............... feedback?
What will you do with it?
You pay. You get the item you paid for. Done deal. Feedback for buyers is pointless.
Note: I leave feedback for my buyer when the item has been accepted by the carrier.
They get a thank you on the packing slip.

To be honest, when you read on here, so many "Should I cancel this sale?" due to no buyer feedback that some leary sellers ask, well, buyers having some FB is useful.

For MANY reasons I only leave feedback for buyers once they have left positive feedback. No one looks at your percentage of feedbacks vs. transactions. The only thing that matters is ratio of positives to neutral/negative. The buyers who can't be bothered to leave feedback don't really care if you leave feedback for them. Don't sweat it.

No, I don't believe it means that those who did not leave it were dissatisfied.
It means, to most of us, that FB is not required, that FB is of little value and that buyers can only be given positive FB.
One of the nice things about FB is that either buyer and/or seller can decide whether or not to leave it.

Yes, I understand that point, but in this instance my ? was direct toward a buyer that, as is so often the case, "has" feedback 😁
Nothing to be gained by having 51 instead of 50, 101 instead of 100, and we have seen the complaints from those with many, many feedbacks.
That seller panic can always be a factor. Seems that not that long ago there was a post about wanting to block buyers with less than "10" feedback.

You do know that both buyers and sellers have 60 days to leave feedback, right?

Feedback has always been voluntary. Please don’t make the mistake of harassing the buyer for it. That never ends well. Just be patient and it will come.

Years ago I was threatened with NEGATIVE feedback because.... I left the buyer POSITIVE feedback. The buyer went off the deep end because I thanked them for their purchase. I didn't respond to their messages (emails back then) because I figured there was nothing that could be said that would make it better. They eventually moved on and didn't leave any feedback. So you never know what it will get you.

They probably did not want prying eyes to see what they had purchased.

Hi @momdadsstash New sellers are always anxious to increase their feedback score, and rightly so. It takes time and patience, and of course outstanding customer service.
The ratio of seller feedback left to seller feedback received has always been uneven. Sellers have always given more feedback than they get. You have to decide what kind of a trading partner you want to be. If you want to be generous with your feedback, then leave it every time for every buyer. That generosity has a selfish payback in that it will increase the odds of getting feedback from your buyer in return.
MANY buyers post here and are proud of their feedback profile, which I think is terrific. It shows they care about their reputation. Since you have no way of knowing if they care about feedback or not, it's smarter to leave it for them all. Good luck!
