Hello, so I just need to clarify something. I has sold a item recently which the buyer claims they receieved some thing completely differently and opended up a case to ruturn due to not as described. They said they shipped the item back and ebay refunded them. I went to apeal this decision and was told that if they sent back what they claim they recieved then I am not covered under seller protection at all. This just doesnt make sence to me and am looking for any advice.. other than dont sell on ebay.

I am not completely clear on your situation, but here is what I read:
The part that I'm confused about is #4 ... did you receive back the item that you sent out, and was it in the condition that you sent?
For the most part on eBay, a buyer can always return back the purchased item to a seller if they claim it is "not as described" - even if you listed the item as "no returns". There is no seller protection for a buyer lying about the condition of an item, or returning an item.

If you consider any "Not As Described" return, there are always four possibilities:
eBay was not there to witness these events as they happened, so they cannot possibly know who is telling the truth.

Since there is no way eBay can determine the "correct" resolution, so they choose the resolution that makes the most financial sense for eBay. Under eBay's Money Back Guarantee the buyer must be refunded, so eBay chooses the resolution that does not cost eBay any money. That may not be fair, but it does make sense.

Fraud happens on eBay. It does not happen on every transaction, but it does happen. So if you are going to sell here, you need to be aware of the risks and take prudent steps to help minimize the chances of it happening. Some of the steps take are to (a) not sell anything I cannot afford to lose; (b) not sell in high-risk categories; and (c) not sell items with high costs and low profit margins.

Perhaps the buyer received several packages and has you confused with another seller.
Having returned a legitimate SNAD, only to have the seller claim it was not his item, when it absolutely was, I can only say this happens on both sides, buyer and seller.

I assume this was for an accepted Best Offer on the $1,150 laser level in listing 173542492509. Unfortunately there's no way to prove that the buyer is fibbing about what was in the package. A new seller with a high-priced item is a magnet for scammers.
