Howdy y'all. I had a buyer tell me that they never received the item I sent them, even though the tracking shows delivery confirmation. They had me send it to a commercial address and not their residential home. I told them to check with Ebay and contact the post office and they did both of those things. In hindsight, something didn't sit right with me googling the person's username - it's an outpost with alot of 1 star reviews on Google alleging their scammers. (Item I sent were work boots for $50)
What should I do now? I reported the buyer to ebay after they messaged me saying I have to contact their post office. Isn't it up to them to file a missing's report with ebay, usps or the police if it was stolen?

Tell them to initiate a INR (item not received) case via ebay.
If/when they do, immediately respond to the case and upload the tracking number showing the item was delivered.
You will win the case.

@Anonymous
Did you send it to the address provided by eBay? If you did, you will be fine, just respond with the tracking number that shows 'delivered'.
If you sent it to a different address because you were duped by someone 'pretending to be your buyer' or your real buyer asking you to ship to another address, you are going to be refunding in full.

Yes, I sent the item exactly to the commercial address provided by the buyer and also attached to their ebay account.

@Anonymous Tell your buyer to open an item not received case. Then simply upload the tracking info on the case. The system will see the delivered scan and close the case in your favor. Just keep in mind the buyer can always go to their own credit card and begin a charge back, after all they didn't receive the item they paid for. However, on this platform you will be fine. If buyer leaves you any negative feedback, you can get that removed because of the delivered scan. Best of luck to you....

Do not respond to the buyer any more at this point. Not even a peep. When they file an inr just add the tracking info showing delivered. Case closed.

Not true. It has to prove the buyer received it not the fact it was just delivered. I have had delivered packages the the buyer claimed they did not receive that I had to cover refund with ebay. That is why Signature Delivery is there.
