I know this has been addressed before but I'm just very mad and need some advice/moral support. A buyer messaged me saying his package showed it was delivered to him, but that it isn't there and asked, "What should I do?" I told him to check with his post office/neighbors. He said he would and would "let me know".
Will eBay side with him if tracking shows delivered?
Thanks!

If tracking shows delivered, then you're off the hook. It's on the buyer to provide safe receipt for their mail. It happens from time to time that tracking shows 'delivered' and the package is actually dropped the next day, or it accidentally gets delivered next door, so they can also talk to their letter carrier.

If tracking shows delivered you will win any INR claim.
In the meantime you should do what you can to help the buyer. During the current COVID-19 there are lots of tracking scream ups, wrong deliveries and other issues. These are not your fault nor the buyers fault and nothing to get mad about (especially if you were mad at the buyer).
Provide the best customer service you can since that is the merchants obligation and the reason they get to make a profit. In this case it sounds like the buyer is understanding but are looking to you for experienced help.

A few Buyer pulling this now.
What I state is.
Please speak with your Local USPS because they can look at the GPS where it was scanned to see if they mistakenly delivered somewhere else. If they did and loss package then they will change the tracking as researching and he/she will be protected by ebay.
If they do show it delivered then he might want to ask his family member but that is out of your hand when it shows delivered and you have done everything to the best of your ability with tracking included.
Usually they will not even respond after that when realizing USPS has gps scan at the point of delivery.

And give the buyer the box dimensions, and whether it's your own box or a USPS priority mail box. Or envelope - whatever you shipped it in.

To move forward and in order to move forward I have two questions that require an answer.
Do you fill out your shipping addresses by hand and then purchase postage at the counter at your local USPS post office?
Or do you purchase a printable label from either eBay labels or some other 3rd party shipping service?
I ask because often times I find that sellers who hand write their ship to addresses on a label or directly onto the packaging and then purchase postage at the counter are suspect. Maybe they transposed a number for the street address. Maybe they have really poor and ineligible hand writing ( I include myself in this category) a d that is what caused a misdelivery. Sure maybe the package made it to the correct zip code but that does not always guarantee that it made it to the correct street address.
And let's be honest here some of of us have horrendous hand writing skills. This may just come down to an error on the seller's part. No offense to the OP.
