Buyer claims I sold part to him that I never sold

Buyer is calling me to see how to use a tool that was shipped to him. Claims the shipping label has my info and address on it. I have never had the tool listed on ebay. Is there anyway to see where an item originated with the item id number?

You can do an advanced search by item number. If you're on a PC, there is an "advanced" link next to the blue search button in the upper right corner. Click on that and enter the item number on the first line.

What was the item number?

Add the 12 digit number to the end of this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/

Then copy and paste it into your browser.

We are a powersports dealership, so they were able to goggle shippers name and city to find us.

You can pull up the listing and the seller by putting the ID into search then selecting 'sold' on the menu on the left. It appears you're both in Sheridan WY

Spendy piece of equipment. For dealers only, you'd think they'd know how to use it then.

Enter the item number into advanced search, look for solds

At the top click on the listing with a blue frame around it to find what you're looking for.

So you think this other seller used you as a drop shipper - the other seller might have purchased from you outside of eBay and had you ship direct to their eBay buyer?

It has to be you as it is from the same city as you. How many other powersport businesses would be in your city?

No I don't think that is what happened.

Here's a direct link to the item that was sold -- by a different seller, not by OP :

https://www.ebay.com/itm/361503277167?nordt=true

The OP @ad-3480 does not have any active or closed listings that I could find, that are for that item.

I think that the buyer just googled the city and state, found OP as an active seller, and jumped to a conclusion that is not supported by logic or facts.
