Buyer cannot buy because it will not calculate shipping?

Just got a message from a potential buyer that she was unable to buy because I don't ship to New York. 

Went to check my listing, and it just shows Calculate where the shipping cost should have been. When I click on it, no matter what zip code I added, I got "unable to calculate shipping at this time"

I changed it to flat rate for what it should cost to ship it to that buyer, but seriously?

I've been revising listings today trying anything to spur some sales. There have been at least 2 in every batch I bulk edit that say there is an internal problem - try later. I have no idea what they are fooling with now. I stopped shopping online at both Sears and Macy's years ago due to all the glitches on their sites and they didn't have half as many as are on this platform - and they wonder why buyers don't shop here anymore!
