Thanks for your help fellow sellers. Last night a "buyer" bid on a very expensive trading card one minute before the auction ended. Sent me a message "bid on accident". I let him dangle overnight & want to cancel now so it can be relisted. Of course how to do this is not just a simple click of a button. How can this be done & more importantly, how the heck can a person bid on accident? That requires a few moves on their part!

Go to your Seller Hub. I believe “cancel” is on a little drop down to the right or left of the transaction

You don’t have to. But you should.
If you don’t cancel the bid (or in the case of a Buy it Now listing, canceling the transaction) then you run the risk of a buyer not paying or creating a reason to return your item.
In an auction scenario, at least you have the potential of other bidders completing the sale. People have "buyers remorse" and do you really want to try and force a buyer into an unwanted situation? No, you really don’t. It just creates problems down the line, and a cancelled bid or transaction is way easier to deal with than a return or an angry buyer.
eBay is a very buyer-friendly place. Sellers do not have a lot of leverage, especially since sellers are no longer allowed to give negative or neutral feedback to buyers. Yes, you read that correctly-only sellers can get negative or neutral feedback!
That’s not to say that eBay does not look out for the sellers. There is a pretty robust seller protection policy in place, ways to report bad or abusive buyers, and procedures for removing unfair negative feedback. But who needs all that hassle? Not me. I would MUCH rather cancel a bid or transaction on the front end!!

Thanks for all that info. But HOW do I cancel this order? I've sold here for 11 years now & already know all that stuff. Don't want to force a sale, want to cancel it! Can you direct me to the place where I can do this? Thanks!

Correct - it takes a couple clicks.
