While I agree with you that eBay has mucked up the Best Offer option, doing what you have done won't always work either. I have never required Immediate payment on any of my listings, but I still have buyers that contact me when I use Best Offer because eBay still tries to require them to put up a funding method even though I don't require it.

Interesting, I may need to post this on the Buyer side of the forum as well, this may be happening because the buyer needs to uncheck his too, eBay really wants DIRECT access to your bank account, One only has to follow the money to realize why things are happening as they are, this is my opinion of course.

This has nothing to do the buyers settings, only the seller needs to opt out.

You can also turn the option off in your settings for buyer requirements using the direct link below.
Scroll to the bottom of the page, uncheck the box and click submit.

Ebay also changed the special offers that sellers send to buyers. Now there is no accept button to commit to buy first so there is no way to send a combined shipping invoice if the buyer wants multiple items. Even if the seller opts out of auto-pay the IPR still applies to offers sent to buyers.
It looks like this:

You say" I have never required Immediate payment " well I have never either, However eBay opted me in by default, and it wasn't until I stopped getting offers on my Best Offer listings and noticed something when I attempted to make an offer, ------- What you are describing is what I do when I contact a Seller and ask them to Please turn their Buyer Payment Requirements off or UNcheck the box, Are you sure you're not Opted in?

I know I am not opted into Immediate payments as I check my settings weekly. The problem is once a buyer's ID is opted in to the immediate payment program by placing an offer with any seller that requires immediate payments on Best Offers it doesn't matter what another seller has their settings set to in their listings eBay tries to require the buyer to pay immediately. I decided the best way is to not offer Best Offer and if a buyer contacts me through messages and makes a reasonable offer, I just lower my BIN price for them so they can purchase and they can use whatever payment method they want..

You're right. I have run into this ebay payment nonsense when I tried do a best offer and refused to put in an offer after I saw it.

I think I know what you're talking about now, I have seen in other posts where buyers follow all the way thru, and they are having trouble getting their payment method back to where they were, I went all the way to the last step, and eBay wouldn't allow me to select PayPal, so I backed out, they were trying to funnel me into Direct Access to my Bank Account, and I said F DAT
