What is going on @ e-bay? In the past 4 months I have had 3 disputes filed on me "Buyer Doesn't Recognize Charge". Apparently you can buy an item , receive it and then go to you payment institution and file a claim of
not recognizing charge and get your money back. I lost one, the buyer got a full refund and I never got my item back. I won the second their lending institution denied the claim, they got the item the day they filed the dispute. I got one today after I shipped the item this morning. I don't know if they will get their money back or not, but they will receive the item on Friday. I track everything I sell for this reason. We as sellers are usually protected under e-bay's policies, but it still makes for bad business. It makes it easy to scam and not only get and keep the item but they get a full refund if successful. Very Frustrating!

How or why did you lose the first dispute, if I may be so impertinent to ask?

This is my question too. "Unauthorized Use" chargebacks are pretty much a slam-dunk win for the seller as long as you have tracking showing that you shipped to the address on the order.

If you ship with tracking to the address on the order you are covered by ebay for that type of payment dispute.

Why are you blaming ebay?
Ebay is not the one making these disputes, the customer is making these disputes with their credit card company.
The same would happen if you were selling on etsy, amazon or anywhere else.
Just because ebay is notifying you of the dispute does not make them at fault.

As others noted not sure how you lost the first chargeback generally eBay has been handling the "charged not recognized" chargebacks without ever involving the seller other than to notify them. EBay simply provides the sales record to the CC company and the CC company closes out the case.
Some of the eBay purchases are not real clear on buyers CC statements and people have short memories in some cases. EBay purchases are not the only thing that is often difficult to connect when you receive a CC statement.

Usually protected? Apparently your buyers do not file "SNAD" disputes 🤣
It makes it easy to scam and not only get and keep the item but they get a full refund if successful
They can do the same thing with a fraudulent SNAD dispute.

Or it can be something like someone making a purchase and their spouse not recognizing the charge on the statement (I got one that was like that; the buyer apologized for it afterward).

The buyer got to keep the item and get their money back, I don't know about you but I consider that a loss.

The buyers institution sided with them and they got their money back and got to keep the item.

I would recall the package you just sent and not yet delivered...

I am not blaming e-bay but I am a seller since 2001 and have seen a lot of non-sense going on on the website.
I know scamming is up in the world but it is beginning to become ridiculous. I guess if I accepted returns I would be dealing with that.

I also consider it to be a loss what I don't understand is how you managed to loose the chargeback in the first place since you provided no details. Did you actually have to respond to the case, did you dispute the chargeback, how did you respond?

Read the link I provided and see what ebay covers you on. There is a procedure to follow when dealing with chargebacks.
If you did everything right and still lost money in the dispute appeal to ebay to be reimbursed.
