Buyer DMed me about returning a new item that's supposedly defective. How to send a return label?

Do they have to file an item not as described with ebay first?  Also, if the item works when received how would I handle that?  I suspect they just don't know how it works or are trying to get a refund period, but don't know that yet.  The item was factory sealed when sent.

The proper way to handle it is through a Return request. If it works when you get it back, list it again. Good luck.

I'll tell them to send a request, but I can't resell the item as new if they already opened it.  It was a $180 sale.  I'll deal with that when the time comes.
