Has anyone else ran into bots bidding on items. Here is the scenario, I had a bidder bid on an item and never paid. Opened a case and the case was closed due to non payment and a negative remark was to be placed against the bidder. When my item reopened for bidding, the bidder placed another bid, I cancelled their bid and blocked the bidder. Well then about 15 minutes before the bidding was closed the same bidder bid again and I am not sure how when I blocked the bidder. Called ebay and explain and they stated they did not show this bidder being blocked. I explained that I have a print out that I printed to show that the bidder was blocked. I know - I always keep a paper trail. Ebay said they have no clue. And to boot, there is no negative mark against this bidder for non payment. Any thoughts?

You and I can not see that a buyer does or does not have UPI strikes. That is not shown to us.

Just as a seller's Defects are a private matter between her and eBay, Strikes are a private matter between the buyer and eBay.
Sellers are actually a little ahead on this, because we can Block bidders with two or more Strikes, while buyers cannot Block sellers with Defects.
(So little feedback is left, that negative feedback is at best a slight indication of possible problems.)
And although it would be useful, buyers cannot develop their own Blocked Sellers List.
You can in this unusual situation, cancel the transaction as "problem with address" since it would be going to an address/buyer who you had made two attempts to Block.
I am assuming that when you saw the second bid on the second item that you had enough time to cancel the bid and once again Block the member?
The member should also be getting some sort of reprimand for interfering with an auction.

You can’t leave negatives since, like, 2008.
No, there are not bots bidding on your stuff - just a numbnut.

eBay CS - can they remove a blocked buyer? Because...I’m surprised!

This may seem an odd question, but I just had a user id purchase from me that I know for a fact was blocked. I know because I have my blocked list copied into our other account and in a Google note!
I know of no way of the user id being able to have suddenly disappeared from the list today. So, I’m curious - can an eBay employee do this without a seller’s permission? I ask because on our other account, an eBay employee emailed and bugged us on behalf of a blocked buyer. However, that id didn’t suddenly disappear! I’m rather disgusted by this.

Oh sure they can. If this buyer contacted eBay and requested the block to be removed, I’m sure that a CS agent would do just that.

Well, since we have two sellers with the same basic question, let's ask an actual eBay employee.
on our other account, an eBay employee emailed and bugged us on behalf of a blocked buyer.
That has been reported once or twice in the past.
Although why the clerk would bother is another question. Must've been some sob story.
However, that id didn’t suddenly disappear!
As it should be. The seller doesn't want to deal with that customer.

Bots are essentially computer programs created by people. Why would EBay have a computer program exist to place bids on things and not pay?

Hi @onlinecentral, I want to clarify that under no circumstances should a buyer ever be removed from a seller's blocked bidder list by Customer Service. If this kind of mistake was ever made by a representative of eBay, we would absolutely address the matter with appropriate coaching and the appropriate protections for the seller. There is no reason to remove a buyer from a blocked list, as the purpose of this list is for sellers to block potential bidders/buyers as they see fit.

Hi @reallynicestamps, in some instances Customer Service may decide to message a member of our Community on behalf of another buyer or seller - these instances are uncommon, but could be determined to be the best option in a specific situation where one member is trying to contact another.
