Bids not accepted

Today i sold an item and every 2 minutes i was getting new bid recieved.

but the bid never moved

i contacted ebay and they said the top bidder kept placing the same bid.

but i contacted the bidder whom had 0 feedback. (Im ok with that everybody starts at the bottem and the item was very sought after)

they replied it kept saying they were getting outbid so they kept bidding up because she really wanted the item but the bid never changed and she kept getting messages saying she was out bid. so she kept trying to increase to win.

auction sold for the same price it had been at for 2 days.

i feel like i lost out on alot of potential money on this auction.

Also another item was somewhat similer the other day. person emailed me saying my item was auctioning for 20 dollars he bid 21 you have been outbid but the item stayed at 20 dollars. he bid all the way up to 40 dollars. and still said he was outbid but the price of the item stayed at 20 dollars. and it sold for 20 dollars. WHAT IS GOING ON!!?!?!?

A "nibble" bidder can place as many bids as they wish upping their max amount, but until another bidder comes along the high bid amount showing will remain the same. I haven't heard of them getting the 'you have been outbid" message before though. That sounds like a glitch of some kind.

OH and fwiw, I don't see how you can say you lost out on potential money. You need more than one bidder to raise the auction price.

please see attach file.

i blacked out the name due to not know if i should reveal that or not but it is a brand new ebayer. but it just doesnt make good since that they would just keep bidding out of fear of losing if they were bidding the same amount constantly

if you look at the completed sales many are in the high 90s-100s some with and some without shipping included. it doesnt make sense i was getting notifications left and right and they were just "mistakingly" bidding for no reason. the email says paid $91 yet that was WITH shipping...

then the other issue of the random guy that wasnt the highest bid on an auction bidding twice what the auction was currently at, saying he was outbid and the price never moving. he took screen shots that i no longer have but wish i did. Because i told him what you just told me...
