Last week, I had 5 sales for $55. This week I have 2 sales for $75. Is dollar amount most important or number of sales when both are very pathetic? lol I know more $ is better but, really(???) - **2** sales?!! Instead of feebay, the site should be called feeble. 😛 Good luck to us all.

At least for us, more sales is better than total sales price.
Total price != profit margin.
Whether an item is expensive or cheap, in most cases the margin is not so different. I would definitely prefer more sales than more dollar value!

Dollar amount actually means nothing. You can sell $300 in one day but if you overpaid when you purchased the item and only made $10 after fees your just spinning your wheels. The most important is to move merchandise as quickly as possible and allow your net profit to increase as you add to each of your sales. Instead of waiting months to make $50 you can sell 6x that amount by having a faster turnover with less profit on each item sold. You do that by keeping your prices close to your competition. Overpricing and allowing your competition to make all the sales is a bad way to make it here on Ebay.

Not enough info for me to chose. which one gave you more profit margin? You never told us what the purchase and holding cost was for each. free shipping?
I would take the sales that offered more profit margin.
Yes, you told us which sold for more but not which one that made you the most money after expenses..

IMHO, if sales are too slow for my liking I would not consider either the dollar amount or the number of sales to be more important.
What I would consider to be more important would be focusing on reasons why my items were not selling.
I took a quick look and noticed that you are using the word toque in your title for the Coors Light NBA hats, but not the word hat.
I tried searching for boston celtics hat and coors light hat and did not find your items. But I did find dozens of other sellers with the same items. And boston celtics winter hat returned 3 times as many results as boston celtics toque.
I noticed a lot of the sold items has the phrase winter hat in the title as well.

I would carefully review all my sales and try to figure out what was working. If sellers constantly look for the downside they will find it. Without eBay, these sales would have been zero. I try to take whatever positive actions I can on a case by case basis and not blame "them" for things I have input into.

I don't worry to much about how many sales or how much they sold for.
I think about whats left after all fees.

I'm basically a recycler - looking to find new homes for used items so number of sales are more important. That being said, I'll donate items to charity thrift stores before selling at bargain basement prices.

"Without eBay, these sales would have been zero."
Ha! Funny how so many sellers forget this!

Added hat to the titles. So, we'll see. Thanks. I had a Lakers lot posted & it sold fast.

"Without sales, these sales would be zero." Not necessarily true at all. I could have the items listed elsewhere & sales could be better! eBay is not a site of guaranteed sales.

It's also true that not everyone sees every listing. Others may do the same search & end up seeing my toques. Cheers!
