Promoted Listings Advanced Beta campaigns let you bid for the top slot in search with control over your daily budget, keyword selection, and keyword bids. As this is a new ad model for eBay and for many of our eBay sellers, we wanted to share here a few best practices to consider when developing a new Promoted Listings Advanced campaign:
We recommend building effective ad groups by organizing your listings according to a common goal or category. Grouping together similar listings allows you to target them with the same set of keywords.
Suggested keywords are search terms that we’ve determined are relevant and likely to perform well in your campaign. We evaluate keywords based on how frequently they’ve been used in recent searches and how relevant those searches are to the listings in your ad group. These keyword suggestions are designed to help you target buyers who are actively looking for items like yours. For best results, add at least 10 keywords per unique product type in each ad group.
To help optimize campaigns, we provide you with suggested bids and bid ranges for all suggested keywords. Because Advanced campaigns are based on a cost-per-click model, you get to choose how much each click is worth to you.
Our suggested bids and bid ranges are based on a number of factors, including past performance and marketplace trends. Using the suggested bids and bid ranges can help take the guesswork out of setting competitive bids.
Keep an eye on your campaign performance to ensure your ad groups remain effective. Suggested keywords and bids can change over time, so we suggest monitoring your campaign performance and making any needed changes to remain competitive.

This is still being pushed onto Sellers like it is A) A good value to do
B) That is applicable/viable for all Sellers
Unfortunate on so many levels. 7000 glitches, but time to hawk PLA. Priorities are just mis-aligned. Ymmv

Exactly as I thought eBay would force sellers to pay for the visibility they originally had.
eBay has found a short-term plan to grow revenue but still has no answers for declining market share.
eBay will continue dying a slow death until they get back to focusing on the customer experience. PLs offer zero benefit for buyers and sellers, only eBay.
P.S. You may want to work on the communications sent to sellers taking advantage of desperation.
"It’s time to get that inventory moving—and we have just the thing you need. Promoted Listings AdvancedBETA comes with a ton of features to help increase your efficiency and visibility, such as:
eBay claims they're a "Champion for Small Business" on their corporate webpage. This year has clearly shown they are not.
Enjoy your Q4 earnings in Q1. We all know they're going to be a disaster.

I *do* know one person apparently doing well with this campaign (in clothing), but they have almost 1000 listings and sell a lot of same-brand or similar genre items - the only hitch in that list for me would be the first one as my listings vary wildly and tend to be niche. The seller that reported this tends to sell to a broader, steady market and can put together a coherent grouping strategy. Someone like me would just be pizzing their ad dollars away.
Years ago I *did* participate in this on Google before the bidding got absolutely crazy and prices all but the big corps out of the picture (then they dropped the program) so I was pretty familiar with it.
