Automatic offers.

I have never sent a seller offer in my life. I recently had a strange sale for under $15 for an item with watchers. Confused, I mailed it. Then I read on these boards that ebay is now sending seller offers to watchers without seller permission.  I went to my active listings and checked to send offers. Sure enough, send automatic offers was checked.  I unchecked it and will have to check on it often since obviously ebay cannot be trusted. Next thing you know they will be having me sell internationally or promote my listings. Invasive and terrble!

You have the ability to bulk edit your listings to remove the offer option. This can also be done for discounts, postage, and other settings. Bulk editing ensures that all options are accurate and consistent.

The way I understand it is that they send automatic offers only if that option is checked off AND the seller previously sent out an offer for that item.  If you have not sent an offer in the past it is very odd that an offer would have been sent out at all.

I believe they are talking about seller initiated offers to watchers ect. not about offers from buyers.

I forgot I had one item that had best offer activated. I don't think it matters. This item did not have automatic offers checked when I looked. I have never sent out and seller initiated offer for this item or the one that sold for a low price. Everytime I check ebay has send automatic offers checked. I do not want ebay to ever send automatic offers. Do you know of a way to turn this off permanently?

@krazzykats,

That link and screenshot are talking about buyer's setting their preferences for receiving email notifications.

It doesn't have anything to do with sellers, whether they send offers or not.
