I'm not a professional reseller, just a guy who has cleaned out his closets and is trying to get a few bucks back on stuff rather than toss things out or send them to the Goodwill. Getting a bit frustrated as this has happened twice within the past 10 days. After posting an item for sale, within about ten minutes I get a message from someone saying that the item is counterfeit or bootleg or whatever and requests that I take down the listing or he'll report me. In both cases, one for an unopened box of software and the other a pair of unworn shoes, the person gives a bunch of static about authenticity tags, labels or holograms. Neither item was bogus as I had personally bought them from legitimate retailers but never opened them or used them. Also, in both cases the person sending the message was a big-time eBay seller who sells the same things as what I'd posted, but for much higher prices. Are these cases of people using technical lingo to bully someone from competing with him? Does this happen often? Does eBay favor those kinds of sellers or will they even pay attention if those people try to report me?
