I just noticed that all the jewelry items I am selling have been assigned an "Authenticity Guarantee" where I must first ship the item to GIA for Authentication. Once GIA completes the authentication, GIA then ships the item to the buyer. I have been selling on Ebay since 2004.
I also noticed that some stores don't have it on the jewelry items they are selling. In my opinion, Ebay is giving preferential treatment to the bigger stores and smaller stores suffer. It causes a delay in payment and the buyer may even see it as a slow shipment on my end.

It depends on the jewelry. There is no discrimination with reference to large or small seller. It is $500 and over.
Authenticity Guarantee is available for select unbranded and branded jewelry, in new or preowned condition, and sold for $500 USD or more. Auction items are also included in the service if the eligible item sells above $500.
All jewelry categories have eligible items except for Loose Beads, Loose Diamonds & Gemstones, Jewelry Care, Design & Repair, Jewelry Mixed Lots, Watches, Parts & Accessories.
Eligible brands are Bulgari, Cartier, Chanel, Chopard, David Yurman, Hearts On Fire, John Hardy, Judith Ripka, Le Vian, Pomellato, Roberto Coin, Tacori, Tiffany & Co., and Van Cleef & Arpels.
To be eligible for Authenticity Guarantee, unbranded and branded jewelry must also meet the following criteria:
Only select items purchased on eBay.com are eligible for Authenticity Guarantee. Items that are listed on eBay.com from eligible sellers located in the United States to a buyer located in the United States are eligible for Authenticity Guarantee.
Items shipping to addresses outside of the United States are not eligible. Unincorporated territories (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and armed forces postal locations are not currently covered.

Then why does Dover Jewelers not have it on their Above $500.00 Jewelry items?
Take a look. Not one of their listing has it.

@evearts55 I did look at both your and Dover's listings, and the only reason I can think of is because yours are But it Now and theirs are Auctions. Maybe ebay won't apply the authenticity requirement until the item actually sells. I also noticed that many of their auctions started at $1.00, so ebay might only auto-detect the initial price on a listing. You could ask or have someone you know ask that seller if their items are Authenticity Guaranteed by ebay.

I second the suggestion why the authenticity guarantee is not on at least some of their pieces, precious gems, diamonds, etc. some would not qualify.

This is a beautiful ring. I bought a 1.5 carat Diamond from a seller on eBay during covid, and love that old world cut. I would suggest one thing as a buyer, the picture doesn’t do a $2000 plus ring justice.

When I checked off the AG item specific on the left side, 7 of their items do come up with it but I don't know why the rest of the higher priced items do not.

But they should give options to choose from . They just use a shipping company called GLS to ship Jewelry under 2K . This company has a low profile. Do you get any issues. I got empty Boxes 📦 few times ? Why not FEdex ? This is the only company you can trust ?
