Sold a pair of Kobe’s and it has the Authenticity Guarantee but it was shipped directly to buyer and not to the Authenticator. Same for another pair of Lebrons I sold. Shipping address is going to the buyer as well. Anyone experience that before? I sold a pair of jordans but they went to the Authenticator first, but not the other two.

The listings clearly show AG. I don't know why eBay would generate labels shipping direct to the buyer. Can you answer that velvet@ebay?

Unless it could backfire another way, I'd be glad to avoid the Authenticators. Oops... did I type that out loud?

That is odd @Anonymous! I would encourage @jadomb-59 to private message this info to our Facebook team or DM @AskeBay on Twitter as I know there are a few social teammates that somewhat specialize in AG issues (or at the very least will know where to go for answers). That will probably be the best bet for getting this a closer look.

@jadomb-59 the "kobe v protro kay yow promo" listing - it looks like you listed "Kobe" as the brand in item specifics instead of Nike.
Authenticity Guaranteed is only offered on certain brands (Nike would qualify, but not Kobe) and I noticed that listing did not have the Authenticity Guaranteed badge on it. It would make sense that sale would not be routed to the authenticator since it wouldn't qualify based on what was listed as the brand and eBay did not add the badge to the listing.
The "Nike Lebron PK80 Men’s Shoe" listing did have Nike listed as the brand, shows the Authenticity Guaranteed badging and sold for above the $100 minimum price so they definitely should have qualified and gone to authentication. Did eBay route that sale to the buyer or to the authenticator?

That makes sense. eBay helped me last night with this and have learned the error of my ways. As of right now it is routed to the buyer but he hasn’t paid yet. Maybe once the buyer pays, the shipping address will route to the Authenticator.

You shipped them without being paid? And you think the shipping address will change? I'm confused...

@jadomb-59 that's interesting, please do some back and let us know if it changes to the authenticator after the buyer pays!
If I had to take a guess, it might be due to eBay having two authentication locations for sneakers - one in New York and one in Las Vegas.
Until the buyer actually pays, I believe their shipping address is not locked in and they could still select a different address when they check out/finalize payment. So eBay may wait until after payment is complete to decide which authentication location to send it to, assuming they try to route it to whichever one would be closest to the buyer?
Take that with a grain of salt though, it's just a guess on my part. 😊

It's possible that the buyer's primary shipping address is not eligible for the Authenticity Guarantee.
According to the Terms & Conditions here: https://pages.ebay.com/authenticity-guarantee-sneakers/,
it's not available for :

No, the original item that this is about was paid for before I shipped. There is a second item that has the Authenticity Guarantee and the highest bidder has not paid yet and i have not shipped it. It has their shipping address right now, not the Authenticator. Once the item is paid for, i am looking for the shipping address to change from the buyer’s to the Authenticator’s.

Good call @lacemaker3 - I had forgotten about that possibility as well.

The payment is what determines where an item is to be shipped, so if there is no payment then it is not actually being "routed" anywhere.
I think people responding on this thread assumed it had been paid because your message implied there was a shipping address.
