Authentication

I sold a Tiffany pin, eBay forwarded it in for authentication to the GIA. They had it for over a week and I have had no updates whatsoever. I know it’s authentic because I am a jeweler.  In any case I’ve called numerous times asking for a status, they not only have my pen, but they also now have my money that the buyer paid! This isn’t acceptable and then they charge a 16% commission definitely not in the saver sellers favor. I’ve been selling with eBay for over 13 years but after this experience, I will not be selling any high end jewelry anymore!

Authentication

If you haven't sold anything in 30 days your funds will be on hold for 30+ days. The day the buyer paid is when that 30 day hold takes into effect. You need to be selling every month so as to not have a hold on your funds.

"13 years" means nothing...have to sell items every month for funds to not have a hold on them.

Authentication

Bit confused you state they have had it for over a week and you have not updates then you state you have called numerous times for status did they not tell you anything when you called? Did they acknowledge they have the pin, did they not provide an estimate? Your not the first one to post about an issue with the authentication centers and I suspect this time of year they may be experiencing a possible surge.

As an FYI you still have 5 items that would have to go through the authentication center. You may want to end those items if you are in fact going to discontinue selling those type of items.

The funds being on hold is another issue and is nothing more than eBay covering their own gluteus maximus despite what they state about seller and buyer protection.
