If you put something up for auction but also select buy it now when the auction ends and has no buyers does the item automatically go to just buy it now or do you have to relist it?

Auctions aren't like GTC listings. They are the only two types of listing on Ebay now. Unless you check the box to have your auction auto relisted, it will NOT relist. There is an option on some of them to allow them to relist up to 8 times. I personally have never used that function. Others would be better able to advise you on that option.

Many don't understand that a best offer on an auction generally means they want you to offer higher in order to get the item.
Unfortinaltely, many don,'t understand that premise. There are FEWER and FEWER buyers, so if an auction I,ve put up has no bids before the last 24 hours, I cancel it.
One potentisl buyer adked me why I would cancel when she was going to bid .99 at the last minute????? So I explained I was not about to have a $400 item sell for $.99.
The buyers aren't there. This is just a sad example. not running anymore. There is no point.

You should be looking at the number of watchers, not the number of bidders. Seasoned bidders are not going to bid on Tuesday for an auction that doesn't end until Thursday. Skip the 99¢ opening-price nonsense and set your opening price to whatever you would genuinely accept to sell if you only ever got one bid, and then all the rest are gravy. The final minutes and (especially) seconds of an auction can be very lively.

There are less buyers that shop auctions. Not less buyers on Ebay. The Ebay member numbers continue to grow.
