Hi,
Yuck. I had a listing end with bids. 10 min before auction closed I noticed a big error in my listing.
Entirely my fault! I offered the buyer a huge discount but she would rather cancel and I don't blame her. How do I cancel the auction after it closes with bids? Btw she had bid on 2 separate listings and won both and now wants to cancel both. Im fine with that but how to go about it?
Also I understand there are fees attached and thats fine with me
Thanks

I am on the side that you simply make your listing proper and don't put yourself into this situation.
Yes, people make mistakes, but at the same time, Ebay's listing technique makes it very, very easy not to. Whether you are circumventing the rule or not, appearances are all that matter. Nobody knows the truth but you, so if you made a mistake you should take the method that makes you take the hit, and you alone.
I bought an item recently, after using the "make an offer" tab, and negotiated a price with the seller. During the process the seller mentioned how "cost of shipping would be higher than the bid", so understanding this, accepted HIS bid and payed swiftly. He then proceeded to cancel my transaction without my permission using the OOS option hours later. It appears to me that he saw shipping costs on the item were higher than what HE let it go for and cancelled.
I messaged him, getting no response. Safe to say Ebay got a phone call, and after 7 days he got a VERY negative feedback.
Yes, we make mistakes, but due to scammers and cheaters the line is blurred as to what you are now, leaving the weight of responsibilty and integrity on oneself.
You made a mistake, explain that to the buyer and take the defect hit.

It would make for a much better place here if sellers and buyers worked together rather than against each other.
Right, all's well that ends well...
There are some posters though on this board though that have a belief that the seller who makes a human error MUST be punished. It's as if they are those type of teachers from the 60's that couldn't wait to get that ruler on your knuckles. There's some kind of diabolical satisfaction they take in that, they enjoy it.
