Aside from Black Friday/Cyber Monday - when are the big sales in USA?

So last week a supplier I found was having a Black Friday sale... 20% off, which was significant on what I was buying (plus being in Canada I had to buy a lot, they wanted $70 for shipping).

I found out today they're doing a Cyber Monday thing until tomorrow, again 20% off... but after spending all my discretionary funds on the last order, Cyber Monday is happening a little too quickly. (I really did order the most I could afford in one order...)

So I'd like to keep my eyes on when they'll have another sale, so I wondered when the big sales seem to happen in the US? We have Black Friday and Cyber Monday in Canada, and we also do Boxing Day after Christmas (which I've heard is not a day off work in the US... but in Canada we get Dec 25 and 26 off work).

Perhaps if I plan, I can spend a bunch more if they do Boxing Day... Who knows when they'll do 20% off again... but considering how much shipping is, and how tight margins are when you pay full price, I really like the 20% deal.

Boxing Day doesn't exist in the US, Black Friday has only existed in Canada for 10 - 20 years.

There are no real specific special sale days although Memorial Day is usually big for sales and also Presidents Day. Mothers/Fathers Day are also big in both countries.

Bottom line, Black Friday / Cyber Monday are THE big shopping/sale days in both countries.

I guess I'll have to start watching my supplier's site for deals... I might have to wait until Black Friday next year. (There are lots of places I can buy from in the meantime, I just don't think spending $3 to make $4 is a good use of my resources... but with the 20% off, some of the prices they had became good). I saved almost $200 on my entire order, which more than made up for the $70 in shipping they added.

Meanwhile I will look for other opportunities.

Just send them offers of 25% less their asking prices via messages for each item you want from their store 😂

I think they changed the playing field when the advertisers decided October 31st thru December 25th and every day in between are Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas all in one.

The shipping costs are a whole other nightmare- I can't afford to do free shipping and the few times I tried it seems someone from some third world place I never heard of manages to place an order in which the shipping cost kills the whole transaction so I just don't do free shipping. On the other hand, the large corporations should be able to do free shipping but they don't - I went to purchase a swarovski piece that weighed 6 ounces and the vendor wanted $21.99 to ship it just one State from me.

Finally, what about the new Covid era "Pre-Order" where large Corporations want us little people to pre pay for goods which is a burden on us and relieves the big corporations from all expenses involved - seems to me there is or was some sort of Commerce Act or something that prohibited or at least frowned upon that process - I refuse to deal with any company still attempting this marketing practice.

Best Regards

Happy Holidays
