I have not received a feedback for over a week (thank you Calisto/Calypso for shadow banning me after July 8).
But I took a 0.1 hit in my Item Description and Communication DSRs today.
(All of the feedbacks I have received in the last month have been positive, specifically praising the accurate item descriptions and good communication).
The only transaction I have had in the last week was a non-English speaking buyer who did not know what he had clicked to buy, did not know what he wanted to buy, and after we got it all sorted out, he did not want to buy what he clicked to buy.
In some dozen exchanged messages, the problems went along this path:
This seems very similar to the situation when I dropped from 5.0 to 4.9 on those two ratings. The same day I received a glowing feedback praising description and communication. But it may have been around the same time as a cancelled transaction due to similar buyer confusion.
My thinking is that cancelling out a transaction automatically lowers the DSRs for Communication and Item Description. Either by automatically entering a 1 to the group of ratings without any feedback entry, or by deducting a 0.1 from those totals.

Hi, altho you received a glowing feedback, that doesn't mean the buyer also gave you 5 stars in every category. Some buyers are confused about the DSRs and believe a 3 or 4 is a good score. I have also seen buyers give a 1 thinking that was the best rating. Finally, i have seen a buyer praise a seller in the written feedback but ding a seller’s stars anyway. At one time DSRs were not anonymous, and a seller could figure out who left what. This is no longer the case. But it is also true that DSRs no longer factor in our seller metrics, so they cannot hurt your official standing with eBay.

No, a cancellation does not affect your dsr’s in any way.

Your DSRs are based on the last 12 months. It likely went down .1 because some older ratings rolled off from the 12 month calculation
