App and website think I am in Russia, and also won’t allow me to update my phone number.

Trying to register as a seller, and have been a buyer for years.  The app and the website keep acting like I am a seller in Russia.  I can’t update my phone number.  I can’t link a bank account… only debit or credit cards.

It thinks that because you DID sign up as being located in Russia.

Yeah… I am in California.  I WAS in Russia before, but I am an American and am here now in California.

Have you tried changing your account information settings? Specifically your addresses, nationality etc.

Your location detection screenshot only indicates where you are logging in from, quite different than where your permanent residence is.

Hi, when you originally registered you were in Russia and therefor your account was registered there. The system will not let you register a Russian selling account outside Russia. Russian accounts are blocked from buying or selling outside Russia. If you are wanting to become a seller in the US you will need to register your account here.

I am not sure that you will be able to change your country of registration or if you will have to close the Russian account and then open a new US account.

You will need to contact customer service to ask them what you need to do. Use the help and contact link at the top of most pages or contact them by sending a private message on social media. You leave a message and an eBay employee will get back to you as soon as possible. To speed things up you can leave your registered account information in the PRIVATE message: Full name, address, phone number, email address, user ID, and a brief explanation of your problem. As a security measure you may be asked to log into your eBay account before leaving the message.

As to your auto detect location on the app, yes it is detecting that you are accessing the app from the US. That location is used to determine if you are in a location a seller ships to when you are purchasing.
