I remember when Ebay used to occasionally (especially around Xmas time) offer a free listing day for as many items you can list. Does anyone recall the last time or how often this has happened lately? I don't get ebay newsletters in my email because I get too much email from Ebay so I blocked it.

Hey there! I monitor me email rather closely and haven't seen anything yet this year about that. But I do know that eBay likes to throw random promotions out for those who continually post often (eBay often gives me an additional 500 fixed price of auction style listings for free).. Additionally, if you do list a lot, I'd look into upgrading into a premium store. It's crazy how much you save in the long run. How many listings do you do in a month? And do you find yourself consistently listing?

Last thing we need here are more listing duplicates.

The last "one day as much as you want" listing special was 10 years ago. After that eBay did occasional limited promos and then in 2012 they started doing the one or two a month limited promo (although some of the earliest ones the limit was insanely high). Around 2016 they switched it up to the Invite Only style which has continued to this day (well last week).
In the Spring of 2017 eBay reduced the number of listing promos to the point where some seller only get them a few times a year while others get them more frequently but still not the same rate as during the peak years of 2014/15.
