Fellow Ebay sellers,
Are you seeing an odd uptick in return requests lately? I've been alarmed at how many it has been lately. It used to be maybe 1 in every 80 car parts I sold. Now it seems like 1 in every 4. I have not changed how I do business and still package things very well.
It can be from something allegedly arriving damaged to a fully tested item supposedly not working. I understand the law of averages and maybe it's just all at once, but it's odd and wanted to see if other sellers are seeing similar trends. I believe in creating a great experience for buyers and go out of my way to list any item flaws and package things well. I just have to wonder if there are any external economic factors at work here that could be causing this uptick in returns, but I also try to look back at myself and ensure I am doing everything right, which I believe I am.
I sell car parts and seem to get the most return requests with the $130-$150 items I sell.

The auto parts category is notorious for waves of returns.
Hang in there!!

Definitely will. I try to shy away from the items that some buyers may attempt the "parts cannon" method with hoping your item fixes their problem without properly diagnosing things.
I think enough volume will level things out. It just seemed like all at once I've been getting return requests that I've never gotten before.
