Any way to override eBay's "Send an offer" discount requirements?

I have an item that's currently BIN/BO with free shipping. I'm planning to reduce the price soon, but also remove the free ship so that I at least end up with something after all of eBay's fees and the cost to ship.

It has watchers that I wanted to let know of the upcoming change and offer them the chance to purchase under the current terms, but apparently eBay has decided that I can't do so without at least a 5% discount on the current price. That's cutting it a bit finer than I would like since I would still be absorbing the cost of shipping.

Any workaround that I can use to let the watchers know of the upcoming changes and ask if they're still interested under the current terms, or no?

If you have never owned a dachshund, no explanation is possible.

Raise the price, wait a few minutes, refresh screen and then send offer. That's what I do if it's cutting it too close or I made a mistake and had something too low.
