Hi,
I need to liquidate my new/tagged women's & juniors clothing inventory about 2 pallets. Some higher-end brands to decent labels. I've tried reaching out to some of the major online liquidation sites, but they want astronomical membership fees and I will probably only be doing this once, not to make money--just to move merchandise.
I've tried Craigslist. That did not work.
I have a call out to some local auctioneers, but not sure if they will handle this.
Any ideas? Business suggestions out there?
Thanks,

@carolina_clothing_co, the group talked about in this blog post is quite active and members don't seem to be deterred by the cost of shipping merchandise to another seller to liquidate.

Search for Facebook selling groups for resellers in your area.
There are always resellers looking for inventory.
You can either post the items in smaller lots, or offer the whole shebang as a lot.

Try the local clothing consignment shops or depending on your tax rate situation it might be worthwhile to donate it for business write off for taxes.

Why can't you list large and small Lots of it here?
group it by manufacturer/designer or tops, bottoms, dresses etc.
I've bought small lots here for resale- and made some good profit off it

@carolina_clothing_co Kaykee has a very good point. For instance, I was looking over your inventory and I might be interested in buying a big lot of those men's RL socks amongst other things if the price is right. If you sell lots low on eBay you may be able to reach a lot of resellers.

That's a great suggestion and simple. Thank you.
The only thing I'm not sure of is if someone would want to pay the shipping costs, for example $40 to ship them 28 higher-end jeans.
It's certainly worth a shot though. The fees would be 3% lower than liquidation.com 😄

Right- bundle them into large enough lots that it would make sense from a total cost standpoint

I do estate purchases of closets for vintage clothing. There were a lot of times when I could do nothing with the stuff they had. Stumbled across a few for whom shopping and hoarding on a daily basis was their key to happiness. I had a plan that worked well and impressed the family members. First take the load to someplace that buys new clothes outright, Clothes Mentor, Platoes Closet, ect. They will probably only take a few. Take some more to a consignment shop, that will bring money in regular for a few months and they love NWT stuff. The rest you can donate to battered womens shelters/halfway houses - so much more satisfying than just dropping the load off at Goodwill.
Or two bucks each at your garage sale or flea market set up. It will take most of a morning, but the stuff will be gone, especially if you word the ad correctly.

State fairgrounds are about $30 a day Sat-Sun used to be $50 for both, every weekend. the 301 yardsale is coming up in the middle of June. Took a little time and effort to unpack and display but Both spots were very productive for me last year, best part NO returns/refunds.

Unfortunately, no FB groups in my area. Perhaps I should start a page, just to get one going for my area. Posting in smaller lots I will experiment with 🙂 Love that idea.

Great idea about checking with platos closet and stores alike. I will give them a call to see if that's worth a shot.
I had a yard sale recently for just my women's clothing. It did well, but for a few hundred bucks, it was just way too much work for the outcome (advertising, setting up tables and racks, organizing by sizes, etc.) when dealing with the amount of merch. that I have. I don't think living out in the middle of nowheresville helps either!
I also have been keeping an eye out for local events in our downtown area to sign up, but they are slim pickings and our town never gets back to me for the registration process.
I found a spot on a majot road where I could sell for a $50 a day fee, but I would need a uhaul truck, help to unload (pregnant w/my 3rd) and help with watching my other kids while I hold the sales event.
So, finding a sitter and renting a truck is delaying that idea.
Sighs** Such a dilemma.

That's so funny! I was just checking out the 301 yard sale. Small world! I don't think the locations in my area are that great though. Plus, I will have trouble hauling my merchandise there, finding a sitter for my kids, etc. Unfortunately, not sure if that would be worth the hassle for me.
I like the State Fair idea, but the fair was a couple of months ago. I checked their calendar to see what else is happening, but nothing appropriate the next two months.
Are you from NC?!
