Your new $59 B&D lithium battery is available for $35-$40 from several other sellers. In fact, it looks to me like you have the highest price on eBay.

Lower your price below your competition.

Once upon a time, 25 items created “a presence” on EBAY. Now you need 5-10 times that many items for people to stumble onto your listings (between a gazillion listings on the site and people paying to promote their listings).

That’s all I can suggest. To be honest, I stay away from drop shippers. I can buy random new stuff at Target or Walmart.

Any Tips for Getting that First Sale?

There have been a lot of posts in the past few months from SriLankan new sellers.

As a Bengali seller, I wonder if you are in the same position as they are?

The Sri Lankan government does not allow the use of Paypal for receiving money. The new sellers seem to have been persuaded to open PP accounts in other countries, which smells like a scam from here in Canada.

We have learned they can use Payoneer securely.

I would advise you to confirm that your Paypal account is legal in Bangladesh.

Or are you registered in Bangladesh but selling from New York?

Using the Global Shipping Program only works if you :

  • are in the USA or the UK
  • will be doing your own shipping.

If you are dropshipping, which your listings seem to indicate, your supplier cannot use the Global Shipping Program.

Other than that.

Sell what you know. Know what you sell.

Don't sell anything you don't have in your control.

Describe as if you have no pictures and picture as if you have no words.

When selling clothing, use Size in the title, but include actual measurements in the description.

Look at SOLD COMPS FOR YOUR ITEMS and price accordingly. More listings means more searches. GOOD PHOTOS are important, KEY WORDS are important in your description. Activity on your ebay account, not just listing but doing other activities daily tells the algorythm that you are active. Things like doing comps, browsing items etc. will generate intrest in your items. THEN LIST...LIST...LIST!!!!! Watch youtube videos like Lindy Glenn who has thousands of listings.

eBay Seller School

You've received some great advice.  Consider doing the e-Bay Seller School classes and learn more about this site, managed payments, listings, titles, etc.

Personally, I do not think drop-shipping is a successful business module.  If you really want to sell here, find product(s) that make sense from your region.  There are a myriad of ways to be successful on selling online- drop-shipping is not one of them.  Good luck to you!  Be safe!

Any Tips for Getting that First Sale?

Hi and welcome!

I took a look at your listings to see you are selling drop-shipped goods from China and elsewhere. The listings are, for the most part, unbranded or little known brands. That can make it hard to get sales. eBay runs on keywords and when one's items are generic, there is a lack of unique identifiers to draw someone into your specific listing. Take for example the "Lige chronograph waterproof men's watch". Using those words in the search bar, over 900 listings were returned. How is a buyer going to find your watch in a field of hundreds? (By the way, the word Chronograph is misspelled in your title which can cost you missed opportunities. Very important to double check all spelling.)

Your shipping times are up to 3 months long for the watch listing. Looking at the other seller's same item, I see you are competing with those who are out-pricing you, as well as offering free 4-day shipping. A shopper doing there due diligence is going to choose your competition because it is cheaper, and transit time is a mere days rather than months long. What you choose to sell is as important as any other factor when it comes to ecommerce. It is important to look at the competition before committing to a certain item. Especially if you are drop-shipping the same goods as hundreds of other sellers.

In the description field of the watch listing, it states not to operate the watch underwater. This contradicts the title keyword "waterproof". Is the watch waterproof or not? There can be no contradictions in one's listings as such discrepancies can mislead a buyer, and get a seller in trouble with eBay. Mistakes in listing can lead to unhappy buyers opening Not As Described cases with eBay. All facts need to be consistent in a listing. Take for example, the women's organic cotton tee shirt listing. The title states that the listing is for White, Grey, or Black tops, but the gallery picture shows many other colors. It is not a good idea to show items in the photos that are not part of the listing. It can confuse buyers.

One last thought: You are a brand new seller with a no return policy on some of your listings. You might rethink that strategy. You need shoppers to take a chance on you. That means putting your best foot forward: shipping fast, offering the highest caliber of customer service, and having  buyer-friendly terms. Plus with eBay's Money Back Guarantee, every seller takes returns if a buyer opens a Not As Described case. The state of retail in the USA is that of more service for the customer including liberal return policies. American shoppers are used to being able to return an item, faulty or not.

Wish you all the best, and much success on eBay.

You appear dishonest unless you present items for what they are.  How come the European Ceramic bowl is shipping from China?  I shutter to think of a young child eating out of those with an unknown lead content.  And the microfiber sheets, some of the best cotton in the world grows near you, that's what Americans want; at a minumum cotton blend.  Microfiber is cheap uncomfortable stuff from Dollar General.

Dear Friend,

To improve and to get sales try and upload some quality images and start with small products until you get some sales and make good impressions on your account.
