Printing media mail labels thru firefox and got this new unwanted popup
'Funny' thing, we didn't get the popup doing media on chrome.
As we have never 'won' an insurance claim on the only insurance we're ever had - the free stuff that comes with priority - we're not going to paid for insurance that will never be paid off.

There is another current thread on this subject that you may find interesting.
I use a desktop with Chrome. I get this pop up only when I'm shipping via Ground Advantage. It does not come up for me when I'm shipping via Media Mail, however other sellers have said they get it then too.
Here is to hoping it is a short lived thing that Ebay is doing as it is pretty annoying for many sellers.

Isn't GREAT how eBay FIXES all the stuff that DOESN'T NEED FIXING?????

the popup comes up on Chrome, it started last week, Media mail, wanting you to purchase insurance...
...i said if wanted to purchase insurance I would have done that before clicking the button to purchase the label, lol, ebay employs bunch of people with nothing to do all day except come up with "improvements" that are more along the lines of annoyance.

If eBay looks at these community posts, please remove this upsell trash immediately! Like another poster mentioned, if I wanted to purchase insurance I would have done so.
This is not a great look for eBay UI/UX decision-makers.

Agreed, however it's not apparent to new sellers or sellers stuck on the simplified label page that their item may not be covered or that insurance is even available. I help a lot of sellers every month that can't figure out how to access insurance on the label page.
I see the reasoning for the pop-up and how it could benefit some sellers, however I think eBay should:
1. add a "don't show me this again" check box for experienced sellers.
2. only show the pop-up for sellers on the simplified version of the label page, and not for sellers on the advanced version of the label page.
Have you ever seen the simplified version of the label page that eBay defaults new sellers into? It's pretty bad in how over-simplified it is. Here's a comparison between the simplified and advanced label pages:

I use Firefox and print media mail labels and I haven't seen the popup yet.

@wastingtime101 lol, actually no, never even thought about simplified since ebay has more or less plunged everyone into their "everyone/every device gets same thing" model past few years. In that case (simplified) the pop up makes sense (if it's working on all devices) but if your using the advanced then get rid of that thing. So yeah, agreed, at least have a "don't show me this again" box or something... but you know, they can't think of these simple things 😆
...anyho... tend to auto-think everyone using same as I have, so your points are valid.

I use firefox. Pop-up showed up on media mail and ground . Annoying. My orders over x amount I auto insure through a less expensive service.

While I also do not like this darn pop up. You are talking about something completely different. It is NOT a fix for anything nor was it meant to be. It is a notification, but once is enough, we should be able to turn it off.

Tbh. Even when ebay DOES have a 'don't show this again option' they usually ignore it anyway.

First let me say, at every turn Ebay is adding more clicks, hurtles and road blocks to get information that we use to see with one click. Ebay in their wisdom is increasing the burden on sellers for some reason I do not know, nor do I understand. But greater minds than mine clearly feel all these cumbersome changes are important to the growth of the site.
Today when I was doing my shipping, there were some changes made by Ebay. Much of what I sell ships Media Mail and then other items [less often] ship Ground Advantage. Now this is what I see when I am going to create a shipping label.
Media Mail no longer appears on the first page as it has for many YEARS. Clicking on the USPS button doesn't bring it up either. I have to click on Compare All Services. Then way down at the bottom of that screen Media Mail appears.
Oh and just to be slightly more annoyed, before today, I did not get this pesky insurance pop up on Media Mail, so they must have been rolling it out as I do get it now.
To say I'm annoyed at all of this would be a real understatement. Ebay keeps messing with things that don't need to be messed with and great more work for the sellers. When are they going to give us a break???
This is likely happening to me because I use Economy Shipping as my designation on my listings. My guess is it will change if I change everything back to Media Mail, we will see. I use Economy because it give 2 more days for the delivery estimates. I guess I don't get to do that anymore.
