I have an automatic pet feeder that happens to be made by Home Intuition. I do not need the feeder anymore because my dog has died. It is in great, almost new condition so I decided to list it in my ebay store. Another ebay seller, dailydrops, is sending me threatening messages stating they're going to remove it from my store. They claim that I'm selling an unauthorized product and that they'll get eBay's VeRO team after me for selling unauthorized merchandise. They said they'll come after me if I do not comply and that they're giving me 24 hours to remove it from my ebay store.

Add them to your blocked buyers list, make sure you have the option set to block messages from blocked buyers and delete the email.

I'm so sorry this person is harassing you like that, unacceptable behavior. I'm also sorry to hear of you dog's passing.
Add this person to your block buyer list immediately. Unfortunately eBay won't do anything about the harassment but you can protect yourself by blocking this person. Do not respond to their messages, just ignore them. They cannot do anything to you or your account.
Just move along and continue to sell in your store. Best of luck to you....

You say almost new here no long needed but your listing says new And says pet free home. If this item isn't actually new you need to change the listing to the appropriate condition and mention it was used a dog.
As as for the message unless it's pulled by vero I would do nothing

A few brands have arrangements where online platforms like eBay help them weed out unauthorized re-sellers, etc. If you google "first sale doctrine" you will find all kinds of discussion as to whether it's right, wrong, fair, unfair, etc. It's been my experience, though, that official, approved re-sellers only get up in arms when someone new comes on the scene and gives the vibe that they are going to be selling MANY of a certain item on a regular basis. I don't know how polite or "smooth things over"-ish you want to be with this other seller who has contacted you, but if you let them know that it is just an online, one-off "garage sale" type item from your personal attic or garage and that you are not entering the marketplace in any official way, they (usually) will calm down and not seek to invoke all the VeRO policy (you might want to pay $1 or whatever for a sub-heading to put on the listing that says "Looks/appears new--sadly lost our dog before he could use!").

You have it listed as new.
I would list it as used, then they couldn't complain.

The eBay VeRO team will only contact you if the verified rights owner asks them to. Under US law a patent or trademark holder must defend it's property. This means any marketplaces allowing the use of the trademark are subject to legal action.
A good example is "LEGO". You can sell all the building blocks you want. But the word LEGO is trademarked, that means they have full and complete control over when and where that word is used under law (I don't agree with this, but I get it).
So, companies like LEGO, or VelCRO or Apple have direct relationships with online marketplaces so that it if the Verified Rights Owner contacts eBay with your specific listing, it will come down.
That being said, only the Verified Rights Owner can make this complaint. An Apple Authorized Reseller can't report you to the VeRo team if you are selling an Apple Device. However, Apple can if they think the item you are selling is not a genuine Apple Product and then your listing would come down.
Ultimately the advice you have been given is all good and correct. Block the buyer, he can't do anything to hurt you.
Also, a "New" item is a "new and never used item in unopened and in it's original condition". If you used this item even once, it is not new. This would be a valid seller paid return under the eBay Money Back Guarantee should the buyer want to return it. Put "used" and remove the "pet free home" and your listing is great 🙂
