Hello All,
So as eBay works buyers can dispute a purchase, thus another seller asking about the process and complaining about the buyer.
Well here is my seller / buyer post.
I posted an item as open box. Listed the information and hit sell.
someone purchased the item and paid. I then sent it off into the world like a good eBay seller. I immediately got a request for a full refund as the “item was wrong”.
I emailed the buyer and asked what the issue was. They said that I sent them a used item and they needed new. I informed them that the item was new, listed as open item, and had all the original accessories but no box.
they then demanded that I issue a full refund.
I again asked for clarification as to why they assumed it was “used” and again pointed to the item description as an open item and not listed as new.
Now I have crickets and still have this claim sitting open until tomorrow (10-18).
I have a no refund policy, which I know doesn’t mean much.
what’s the next step? What do you think they are going to do? Why no response?
seems more like buyers remorse and not reading the condition listed.
any advice would be appreciated. Tia!

What I would do is offer to pay for the return and tell the buyer that when you get it back, that he/she will be refunded. Did the buyer request refund through an eBay return claim, or did the buyer just send you a message ? If the buyer simply messaged you, have the buyer initiate a return.
The only time I would refund without a return is if the item costs far more than it's value to ship back. If you ignore the buyer the chances are eBay will give them a full refund AND let them keep your item (as well as giving you a defect).

So the buyer initiated the return. I have been communicating with the buyer but they have gone silent.
it went from I want an exchange to I want a refund. Then nothing.
