Almost not Selling Anything Since a month- September 2021

Hey guys, is just me or the sales on eBay have dropped really bad? I haven’t been selling almost anything since a month ago, is driving me crazy.

In the same boat. Ebay processed 2 returns before I got home to check the mail and inspect the contents. Called about it right away and they first said it could be fixed. It wasn’t. Second time I called they “put in a ticket”. Third time they said it couldn’t be removed, but the impact of the below standard could be lessened (what a horrible business practice!) Fourth time I called I was told to “wait it out” as one infraction would be dropping off soon. 

Now, in some places it says I’m “below standard” and others “above.” 🙄 No one at ebay seems to understand my complaint. 

My sales are down 43% over last year so I’m not listing as much on the platform. After Ebay Open I listed items that were supposedly in demand and they are barely getting views. Promoted listings vs non aren’t showing any differences. Sales on my other platforms are doing well, even increasing, so I don’t think this is something to blame entirely on the pandemic. 

Frankly, I think the push to sell sneakers, sports memorabilia and luxury watches has altered the algorithm to drop other items below the bar in search. Perhaps they are using this to push us toward their new promotion program.

I'm a 21 year eBay seller. and October 2021 may easily be my worst month so far.  I have four accounts - my last book sale and crafts sale were 10/3 - my last sports stuff sale was 10/15 - and this collectibles account, which has been most impacted by the category and item specifics changes, my last sale was 9/26.  I've  spent hours adding required items that disappeared, and many listings now also show 10-15 recommended item specifics - most of which don't even apply to the item listed. 

It's bad enough that media mail increased by 10% August 29 and we have holiday surcharges for first class and priority mail effective 10/3 - 12/26, but these messed up categories and item specifics have made selling even more difficult.   And it must be affecting prospective buyers as well as traffic has been down by almost 50% on all accounts for over a month. 

I'll be closing down on Dec 3 for the Christmas holiday - 10 days earlier than usual thanks to the increasingly unreliable postal system.   Haven't decided whether I'll just hang it up altogether or re-open on the 26th.

In my opinion, the way Ebay runs this website for sellers along with their clueless overseas call center is "below standard" @cooperdeals and @poshreads

Exactly!!! get out when you can. You will loose most of your profits All it takes is a few bad customers. ebay customer service is clueless and will not protect you. You are a business and they expect you to take the loss to continue selling on their site. 

I don't buy or sell on ebay anymore and it works great for me.

I Don't know about the rest of you.   I'm not going to ship an item without payment. 

So I blame e-bay dropping sellers payment thru pay pal. 

 I had to change My all my listings from next day shipping to 5 days.   

  One of my items sold on Thursday and payment didn't clear my bank  for a week. 

     F.Y.I  e-bay collected interest on that money for 4 days before it was sent to my bank.

 and only 1 day for my bank to clear payment.
