All I can say is...Wow...

I seldom post here, but this just made my jaw drop open.  I had no idea this is happening.  Perhaps I spend too much time with the kids.  Anyway, it totally makes sense why ebay is cracking down hard on sellers who sell questionable merchandise here.

Again...Wow...what a mess!

California also releasing something like 7,000 to 8,000 pedophiles some only in prison for a few months. These animals murdered, raped, and abused kids.

Yep, sad isn't it?  As a point of reference California states it costs about $106,000 per inmate incarcerated in the state.  So at this 7,000 that's 742 million dollars just for these inmates.

"Store clerks are told to do nothing about it."

My hubs was a PIC (sort of a sub-manager) at a local Safeway.  The employees were told if they interfered in a robbery they would be fired.

The thieves are all well aware of this. Kind of like the scammers on eBay if there is no risk for stealing why not.

For the record:

I mentioned above being told as a bank teller that we should hand over the money and not argue with the robbers.

I probably should add that I was working for the Royal Bank of Canada (and later for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Canada and the Bank of Nova Scotia) during the 1960s and 1970s.

Not California. Not even this century.

The attitude of the banks, and of most corporations, is that it's only money and not worth losing lives over.

We hear about these robberies because "man bites dog" makes a better headline than "dog bites man".

There has not been a change in the corporate response to robberies.

The corporation doesn't need the bad publicity from an employee playing hero and getting killed over a few thousand dollars that doesn't even impact their bottom line.

And they have insurance.

The store doesn't lose a thing.

And all the employees are still alive and can come to work the next day.

I know man 🤔 Right!!

California My Home State, if it were a country on it's own would be the 8th Largest Economy on the Planet!! Of course I would never advocate for that because I worry about the opinion of the Twenty Three (23) states our taxes subsidize and carry annually!

But Still, if we were on our own and cut the dead weight,  just think about all the monies we could poor into our "catch and release" pedophile program!

Our stores in Chi have locks on some items like cold meds and Tide detergent.  The liquor is not locked, but I think it will be.  You have to take the locked box to the cashier to have it unlocked.  Sad world we live in.

On another subj:  We were watching "Posh" live shows and there was a girl on who had a housefull of NEW sneakers - Nikes, NB, Adidas, etc. etc. in every size.  the buyers in the comment section were making requests (do you have size 9?) .....for real.  It was a site to behold.  And I told my friend, I bet those are smash & grab sneakers.  They were all new and in the box.  No way anyone has that many new NIKES to sell unless they're stealing them.

#1 I think those phones have GPS tracking.  #2 - there is a risk that a customer would get hurt if the thieves are stopped.  #3 - The thieves from what I saw didn't have "weapons" and if there was a guard with a gun and he shot them, the guard would be sued.....unfortunately.

The laws are screwy, but it's life over property.

Now this is what Apple stores COULD do -- electronically lock the doors.  I don't know if their doors require a key, but what if there was a "switch" that locked the doors automatically and thieves couldn't get out?

Not a good idea as the thieves may very well then harm customers or staff.

A few years ago a friend of mine who was a manager for a Rite Aid lost his life pursuing a guy who stole a carton of smokes. Not worth it.
