Hey Liz, Great summary on Instagram about the recent virtual meeting with the Ads Team members! Could you post it here as well?

Should have done this: Here's the Instagram page:

Be sure to click the little arrow above the word "listings" on the graphic to continue reading...there are more pages....Liz did a really nice job of summarizing the lengthy discussion.

That would probably be helpful for the sellers who do not have Instagram.
I do but many don't.

To me this strategy:
..... seems backwards. The first few days is when a listing is most likely to get FREE organic views, and potentially a sale. Recall that even eBay has confirmed that the newness (AKA "recency") of a listing is a positive algorithmic factor in search results, including Best Match results. So if anyone buys during those early days and the listing is promoted "heavily" then you would absolutely pay that heavy fee!
So to me it would make more sense to list raw, unpromoted, and then if it doesn't sell in a few days, then add promotion.
The only way I could see the "burst" method working would be if you purposely price the item higher than you think anyone would pay, but not so high as to completely turn off buyers just seeing the thumbnail/price and not even clicking. -If you could nail down that sweet spot price and get some watchers, then remove the promotion and send offers, it could work. I just think would be rather tricky.

I feel bad for seller who come here asking for help with their listings. We all look at them and then another random buyer buys that item.
