Hello,
Ebay is asking to add item specifics to every item listed. In my case i have just over 1000 items listed and it's a hassle to go through each item and add 2 or 3 required fields on each item. I am wondering if this obligation applies to sellers who have 20.000 or 50.000 items? And does Ebay expect them to update manually each item, one by one? As it looks it seems to be compulsory but i am wondering if this applies to items already listed or just the news ones from now on. Can anyone help?
Thanks

If they're "recommended", you can ignore them. They'll continue to annoy you with that "add recommended specifics" flag, but won't actually do anything to your listings.
If they're "required", you'll need to add them somehow, or risk the listings being taken down.

It applies to all of us - regardless. Big sellers, little sellers. We are all being told to update item specifics.

The required item specifics applies to all items, including already listed items. It is one of Ebay's more demented moves due to the ridiculous redundancy. Basically Ebay is asking sellers to do the data entry work to create a large data base. It is also the reason many sellers larger than myself, especially those with categories of specialization, to look at alternative platforms, some of which are growing quickly. I guess Ebay did not learn any lessons when they required extensive item specifics on clothing which led to a windfall for sites like Poshmark.

You can use the Bulk Edit tool in Seller Hub and do multiples at one time. Quick and easy. Good luck!
