Hello Everyone, Just a quick question. Are our view counts listed on our items usually pretty accurate? I have been selling for about 11yrs. & never before have my view counts been so low as they have been in the past few weeks. I would usually get at least a few views per day. Lately I can go a few weeks with "0" views. Highly unusual & leads me to believe that the counts may not be very accurate. Thank so much in advance for your opinions. (J.B.)

I've never heard that they weren't accurate. I think all my '0' Views are just that... it's slow lately. Hang in there...

This is a slow time of the year, with back to school, etc. So views and sales may be slow. Let's hope that views & sales pick up soon. Especially sales. 😊
Happy Selling

THAT is a very good thought that actually never crossed my mind. And with the hi costs that I am seeing lately for school supplies and for new clothes & shoes for school - buyers may be left with very little extra $$. Thank you ckimodog for your input. Fingers Crossed for better times!!

Looks like most of your items are seasonal, and the rest collectible.
With 11 years of selling on Ebay, you have to have some feel for which months are best for your business.
Like me, most of what you sell is not need based. And for your parts for refurbing fishing rods, this does not seem to be a peak time.
Although we tend to use views as a measure of potential sales, views represent interest and in periods of lower interest, views drop through the floor.
I recently was disturbed enough by sales drops to look back to last years results, and discovered July and August, though a drop from previous months were higher than last years sales.
Unlike the newbies, you have history.

Personally I do not think the views are accurate at all, Or things have gotten very Pathetic!!

My opinion only, others may or may not disagree:
The view counter has never been accurate. I've sold items with zero views (long before the ability to purchase through the search results or whatever it's called) and had items get 50-100 views immediately after listing. No item I list should have that many listings in a month, much less right after listing.
I solved the problem of inaccurate views by turning off the view counter as soon as the seller hub came out with the ability to customize the view. If I can't see it, it can't bother me.

I recently wondered if the viewing figures are correct and had a long chat with ebay. I am confident they are correct. I pay for promotion on some of the items which boosts the viewing figures. I pay the 12.5 percent and sometimes pay 5 percent. Now I see the viewing figures are accurate I am going to pay the 12.5 percent promotion as it is getting higher views and that is translating into sales. I still have lots of "no views or low views on some items which I am putting down to the fact buyers are not that interested in those. Obviously you need to price in the 12.5 promotion fee but it does appear to be worth it. I put my prices up to cover that cost.
