Accidental Bids?

I'm a fairly new seller. What is the best way to handle when a buyer contacts and says their bid was accidental? I've had this happen several times now and had to cancel sales.

Accidental Bids?

You should cancel their bid right away. Then place them on your blocked bidder list to prevent any more "accidents".

If the sale is already made, cancel the sale. Be sure to choose buyer requested it for the reason you you don't get an account ding.  Again, blocked bidder list.

Never force a sale as there is no way to ever make them happy and it can lead to a false not as described case being filed.

@dogrosestudio

First you laugh.  It is pretty hard to "accidentally" bid on something since you have to place a bid, and then confirm it, etc.

Then you decide if you want to cancel their bid or not.   If it is an "auction in progress" (hasn't ended yet), you can send them a link on how to cancel their own bid, or do it for them.

I think first of all  you should inform about your accidental bid for ebay. and each time they will instruct you what is the best proceeder to solve your problem. Otherwise you don't try to solve this problem with the seller, I think it is the best method according to my knowledge. Good luck,

Accidental Bids?

Given what you sell these are most likely the parents of children having to cancel the unauthorized bids.  Given what you sell this will never stop.

You can block the accounts.  It would be interesting to see a histogram of these accidental bids.  They spike over the weekends I would bet.
