Hello -
I opened our eBay store in the beginning of April. We have since sold a rough total of $1,600. Since this time we have received ONE payout of roughly $10 YES that’s right TEN dollars. The best part is what happened tonight. I requested an automatic payout of our available $148 and now I’m SO over eBay I could scream. I get a message saying “we are conducting a standard review for the month. Your funds will be available in 5 business days! This company is awful 1,000% awful. I’m going to close down everything on our store and take my goods somewhere else. What a RIP OFF and unethical company.
sincerely,
disappointed.

Hello- Welcome to eBay. Sorry that you are having issues with your payouts being on hold.
I can tell you one thing that may help you. Selling on eBay isn't a get rich quick place. It just will never happen. The most important thing you will have to have is Patience. Let the process take its course. I'm not going to assume you didn't read the rules about holds. Maybe you did.
But one thing I can see is that you are letting your patience level shine through. Remember the old saying - You Reap What You Sew. You have been on eBay a short time. Feedback is a important thing that buyers look at. In your short history you have already left 2 neutrals for sellers. Your buyers are going to see this also. Both of the neutrals revolve around the same thing. Having patience. If your not going to be willing to wait, You will never see the good things that exist anywhere. This can become a very rewarding venue to sell on. Everyone in the world has heard of eBay. What more could a business owner want but to have everyone know you exist. When selling here you are eBay and eBay is you. Wait until you get your first neutral or negative. You will go ballistic. Everyone does. Your post here is showing impatience. You might want to just slow down and let the process run its course. Good things happen here to people who wait. But those that leave never get the chance to see that. I'm not trying to be cruel, just trying to be truthful in what I see. I never know what I'm doing wrong until my friends let me know.

Hello - Before you started selling here did you read all the seller information.
The ones most helpful to your situation would be the MBG and Payment Holds.
Most new sellers have at least a 30 day payment hold. This is 30 days from delivery of the item.
Hopefully your payment will be released soon.

You may opened your store the beginning of April but your first sale was the 18th. New sellers have payments on hold. Give it time. Ebay has to be responsible to stockholders, sellers, buyers and their own employees. That means the drain holes that money can go down are almost non existent. They can't afford to have you bolt with money and then have a customer initiate a return.

All according to plan. If you think about it, it makes sense that eBay places payment holds on new sellers. Infrequent ones, too. eBay has no idea if you are a great seller, a scam artist, someone trying, but doesn’t quite understand how to describe items, pack them, ship them, etc.
these payment holds, protect both eBay and the new sellers. Better for a seller to have those health funds in reserve while they are learning the ropes. Of course, better for eBay. If you are a scam artist – they will have to refund the buyer, and they don’t wanna be on the hook for the money.
Just keep at it. At some point, those payment holds will fall off. Most of us have been on a payment hold at one time or another. Heck, if I open another selling ID, even if I have a good history on multiple other IDs, I will be on a payment hold for a short period of time.

It looks like, when you started selling here, you neglected to read the available information about selling on eBay. Since you were apparently not aware of the payment hold on funds for new sellers, you may have missed other important information also.
May I respectfully suggest that you read the Money Back Guarantee? Of course, if you're planning to take your goods elsewhere, that won't be necessary; however, do yourself a favor and carefully read the rules before starting to sell at your new venue.

I agree that the holding of funds for new sellers seems to be entirely to long to wait, & also discouraging, But that being said, It is in your agreement when you signed up, so should not become that much of a surprise to you.

Well, taking your goods elsewhere is your prerogative but you will find problems on all "somewhere else" sites as well. If you do take your goods elsewhere, just be sure to familiarize yourself with that site's rules and policies before you start selling.
On the other hand, you have apparently done well so far on eBay. So, if you want to be a bit more patient, your funds should be released soon and once you are over the new-seller hump, it should be easier and you should get your payouts in a timely fashion.

I also just looked at your listings and you have some pricy items for sale. Scamming is common on eBay and you should never list anything you can't afford to lose. Electronics are one of the highest scam areas and since you are a new seller, you are a prime target for scammers. There are many of us who have been selling on eBay for many years and no longer sell expensive items.
If I were you, I would not sell that camera and that camera lens on eBay (I would sell locally for cash); I would also think hard about selling some of those expensive toys, at least until you get more experience under your belt. You need to be familiar with eBay's Money Back Guarantee and understand how it works. Read through some of the posts on this discussion board and you will see how many sellers have lost both their item and their money on deals gone bad. When you sell an item, whether it is $10 or $2500 and a buyer files a "not as described" claim and returns a rock, for which you have to refund, you will see what we are talking about.

What you call awful is actually called "risk assessment", and IMHO it is 1000% great at preventing buyers from being victimized by fraudulent sellers without my fees being increased to cover the losses.
Payments on hold
New sellers typically experience holds for up to 30 days, although sometimes it may be longer

Why do new sellers always think that they are entitled to special treatment?
I wonder if eBay could create a cheat-sheet of sorts for new sellers to read when they apply for an account here.
Might reduce the number of posts on these discussions boards by about 75%.
And then there would be a reduced demand for "moderators."
Never mind.

New Seller Hump? Is that in fine print? I am on other sites and they have always paid out in a timely honest fashion. This is basically making interest off the things I’ve sold. Thank you for feedback but this isn’t my first rodeo and this cowgirl can smell manure from a mile away!

Madam, if that's your concern, the payment delay you are experiencing is the veritable tip of the iceberg!

Ok let me clarify. I too have had another store from 2006. I never encountered this much scrunity, especially from unsolicited advice givers. The items I’m selling are reasonably priced and priced according to what eBay suggested not what they were valued at or appraised for. I don’t like to ever scam anyone. I’m simply truly disappointed in a company that used to be different. It’s sad and 60 days is a bit much I feel imo.

Awe yes, again I will add I’ve had a store with eBay from 2006 to about 2020. I wanted to start fresh with my husband and have a store together. I’m sorry if I’m frustrated but I work with other selling sites and they have been beyond less extreme in their “cautionary” measures. Again 60 days is a bit much imo.
