About to sell my first item in a long time. I have a couple of question about Manage Payment.

So this is the first item I'm about to sell something since the whole Manage Payment policy got implemented. I have a couple of question. After my item officially sells (the auction ends) and the person pays does the payment immediately appear on the Manage Payment screen or does it take a couple of days? I usually like to see the funds first before shipping out an item which is what I did when Ebay was using Paypal. Once I sold something I waited for payment to clear or become visible on Paypal before I shipped out the item and I was wondering is this possible with the new Manage Payment policy.

Also is there no possible way to use the funds from the sale to pay for shipping? I remember on Paypal you could use the available funds to pay for shipping or use your credit card, but I don't know if there's anyway to do that now because the payment are going directly into your back account and it takes 2 - 3 days now. Does that mean I'm going to have to pay for shipping myself via a credit card?

You can pay for shipping out of the available funds. Scroll down when you are filling out the label, there's a selection there.

Your seller hub will inform you when you have been paid and the item is awaiting shipment.

3-5 days later it should transfer to your bank depending on if you set up to be paid daily or weekly.

With Managed Payments it takes 5-7 AFTER the sale before money is deposited into your checking account.    EBAY deducts selling fees & shipping (balance is deposited into your account).    EBAY holds back "shipping" so there is money for you to print labels.   When you print label (go to bottom of page) and click "use pending funds".    If you don't use EBAY to ship your labels...that "money would go back to you".

Because PayPal no longer manages money for EBAY (nothing goes into your PayPal account anymore).  But you can also use PayPal to print labels (if you keep money in your account).   

And customers can still use PayPal and many other credit cards to make purchases.

Yes, if  you  set your handling  time correctly. All  my items contain in the description,  "Item(s) prepared for shipment on my receipt of cleared payment from eBay. Up to 15 business days handling time." I ship when eBay's payout  hits my bank. No pay, no ship.
