Ability to list/relist after an orthodox order cancellation

Hi,

would be a seller able to list/relist the same item after an unorthodox (without warning and valid reason) order cancellation?

Asking, because it happened to me. The seller canceled the order and has remained unresponsive. I'd be still interested in the item, but it has not been relisted since the cancellation.

It's frustrating and unprofessional when a seller cancels for no reason and no explanation to you but yes, they can relist.

Agreed, I even helped him identify a possible mistake/error in his listing. He canceled and refunded me, but he's been completely unresponsive. Not sure what to make out of it, as his ratings are excellent...

Has the seller listed anything new since?  If not there might be a personal emergency going on.

Yes, the seller has since listed the other item for an exorbitant/greedy amount. The item I ordered and was canceled has not been relisted yet. Not sure If or when should I ask him. My conversation with him was very formal and kind. On the other hand, his replies were very short and vague. Not the best experience, but he probably still has the item I'm interested in. I haven't left my feedback yet.

I agree with everlyb, It sounds like the is a personal problem as suggested.

For a seller to change a price to an exhorbitantly higher amount it would suggest they do not want it to sell but do not want the hassle of having to end and relist.

Hold off on feedback until you can see what is going on

La Habra, California. Might be age related; noticed that he's also selling Disney VHS tapes and has mentioned grandkids in the description.

You are registered in Slovakia - could it be a delivery problem for the seller, or is your delivery address in the US ?

Maybe if he is older he is uncertain of international shipping - sorry I am just throwing out guesses now LOL

Of course, I will hold off on the feedback. He probably made a mistake in the listing/my order, because he also included certificates related to the other item. I noticed and notified him before and after the purchase, but he responded only after the order had been placed. I'd understand the cancellation for the right reason. All in all, I was trying to be honest and helpful; unfortunately, the seller's reactions have not reflected that.

Well, my first inquiry was about shipping. The seller confirmed the he uses the global shipping program only. It's the easiest and the most convenient way to ship internationally on eBay. Unfortunately, also the most expensive for international buyers (unnecessary/completely avoidable import charges).  There's also the opioid crisis in the US, right?

The saga continues. The seller is mostly unresponsive and/or provides very late vague and short answers, even though he's been reacting to my offers immediately.  My question about relisting the item, I initially  purchased and was canceled, went unanswered. Instead, he asked me to make a fair offer for another item, which he's listed for $7000, and can be bought for +/-500 elsewhere, and added that he'd include my canceled order (which I purchased for $70) with it.  I asked him what makes him believe in his current valuation. After couple of days, he replied for the first time with a full sentence: It is priced according to my feelings regardless of comparison of other items and what price I choose is my business not yours.

Weird and unprofessional. I don't' think he actually has these items...

What do you think?

I think you're wasting your time with this guy.
