A scammer? Is it valid to report him?

This guy said my item was tainted, but he only gave me one picture and I couldn't identify anything. I had to ask him for more pictures, and then he started threatening me. I have reported him to eBay but have yet to get a response and customer service has told me to accept the return and refund him. What should I do?企业微信截图_16869931368158.png企业微信截图_16869937357066.png

This is eBay so if he files "item not as described" case then you either pay return shipping and maybe get something back (and not necessarily what you sent or not in the same condition you shipped it) or let him keep the item and refund.

If the buyer has opened a Return request citing a 'Not as Described' reason, you'll be refunding. It's your choice whether or not to require a return of the item. If you want to delay the refund until you receive your item back, approve the Return request. Good luck, however you decide to play it.

Edit to add (and after reading your title): Since you've already reported the buyer, it matters not whether it was valid.

I usually do not get into any kind of back and forth with the buyer. My response is mostly the same to a complaint.

"Sorry you are not pleased with your purchase.  Please return for refund. "

Nothing more than that and wait and see what they do. I could care less about pictures. If they open a INAD return, I pay the shipping and refund accordingly when I receive the item back.

You can refund before they open the return.

Or you can just refund when they open the return and let them keep the item.

Is the item worth haggling over?  Your choice.

You can also report the message as feedback extortion.

You just won any case he brings -- because that is Feedback Extortion.

Tell him to open a Claim.

Show eBay the Message.

There is more to it than that, but he is unlikely to win a refund.

I do have to say your listings seem like stock photos.

Are you a drop shipper?

What does the message have to do with winning a INAD claim?

I don’t see how this is feedback extortion.  Buyer wants to return an INAD.  Seller is making that process difficult.   Buyer is just asking for seller to go along with eBay policy.

I'm curious, @purchasinghome .

Are you dropshipping all those linens? If so, how do you know what the buyer received and what condition it was in if you never had it in your possession? (Those listings from NTBAY and descriptions are from Amazon.)

ETA: Since you have free returns, the buyer simply has to open a return request and you will automatically supply the return shipping label.

Since you are not using photographs of actual items that you have in your possession, you have no idea what the buyer received.   More photographs from your buyer would prove nothing, because you personally never saw the item that was shipped.

The only professional response would have been, "Please return for a full refund."  That fact that you offer Free Returns may well be one of the reasons the buyer bought from you in the first place.  Now you are fighting him.

They are shipped from our warehouse in Texas, and my boss and the owner of NTBAY are family. I really can't make sure that everything we have shipped is okay, it's just that this guy refuses to provide anything other than that picture and threatens me which infuriates me.

More pictures are useful, for both buyers and sellers. This picture makes it impossible for me to tell if it is our item or not. If he is willing to give a full picture of this pillowcase, I will agree to his refund request. It is costly to return an item.

Not really. Which drop shipper will only sell NTBAY's products?

You will never get a response from Ebay regarding you reporting this buyer.  That is considered private account info, so they aren't sharing that.  But Ebay does take threats seriously, so don't worry about that.

I swear I've seen this pic before.  This same pic.  In the last month or so on a different thread.  Did you have another thread on this problem?
