30 Day GTC Listing Duration

In the pinned GTC update thread they mentioned renewals being 30 days being a problem for sellers and addressing it before May which is a 31 day month.  Has anyone heard about any possible changes to the 30 day renewal period?  If not hopefully something will be announced Monday or Tuesday.  I am still not a fan of the GTC only option for fixed price, but if they change it so listings renew on the same day every month and never renew twice in the same month that would be helpful.

Harry Temkin, VP Seller Experience and his team thank you for all of your feedback, especially on the 30 day renewal for GTC. The 30 day auto-renewal period was one of the main concerns raised by sellers due to it not syncing with monthly billing cycles. We are addressing this issue and will announce details by May.

"by May" in eBaySpeak means: "Before, during or after May....probably no later than July."

But there's a very good chance that the Spring Update will be this coming week, and hopefully they will announce the solution as part of the update.

In an unusual move, Wenig tweeted that the Spring Seller Update is indeed coming this Tuesday. Whether it will include anything related to GTC, however, I don't know.

Just don't list anything during the first couple of days of the month. Unless of course if they are going to sell and/or you don't mind paying for a few listings.

Ebay is aware and agrees there needs to be a resolution for this concern.  We should know what that is very soon as Ebay did state they would address it in May.

GTC the "got ya fee" is a money maker for eBay hard to see them changing much of it. MHO

Good luck to ALL the small sellers out there!

I'm a GTC user and fan, so don't beat me up please.  I don't understand what the big deal is over the GTC not syncing with the monthly billing cycles.   Before being forced into the GTC option, didn't you use the 30 day listing period?  That certainly didn't sync with the monthly billing cycles either.  What did you do then when listing in a month with 31 or even 28 days?  Did you really not list the item for one day on the 31 day months?  And what did you do on the 28 day month?  So you will get billed $.10 twice in a month 2 times a year.

I'm not an eBay shill or cheerleader by any stretch of the imagination, but really.... what is the big issue?

Same day each month would NOT help me at all.  I do not WANT TO RELIST EVERYTHING.  I still need to END ITEMS EARLY nearly every day !!
