2020 - another first!

A few days ago, a buyer puts in a request because their item was not received.  Today, I get a message thanking me.  It was received.  So, I ask the buyer to cancel the request.  Instead, I get a message from eBay that the buyer asked to review the case. What???!!   So, of course, I sent eBay a message letting them know he contacted me.  Guy is trying to rip me off or what?!  Never had this nonsense happen before.  Good ol' 2020 keeps rolling along.  lol

Showing tracking is still no guarantee eBay will decide in your favor.  They refunded a buyer $44US for an item that is tracked & continues to be 'in transit.'

There is no tracking.  He just sent me the message that he received it & thanked me.   This should be the proof I need.

That is too bad because if the tracking showed delivered, Ebay would rule for you.

What you can try to do if there is still an option to email your buyer from WITHIN the INR, is to send your buyer a message, cut and paste their message they sent you regarding receiving the item and as some question that would inspire them to acknowledge it.

Not necessarily! I had a buyer last year whose item showed delivered, and this was a very expensive Ralph Lauren clothing item. Despite the delivery information showing it delivered, I got a strike for it because USPS left it on a porch - a few houses away. The buyer even told me later that she recovered the item, yet, the Defect was not removed from my account, although it was clearly not my fault.

That isn't what we were talking about here.  It is difficult to cover every different type of scenario in a post.  We would all have to write a novel every time we post.  My post was in specific response to the OP's situation not yours.

The tracking on your would have shown it was delivered to the wrong address because they have GPS.  If it was an expensive item sometimes requiring a signature upon delivery is your best protection.

Defects rarely get auto removed.  In a case like what you had, you would have needed to contact Ebay and give them the information from the buyer saying they had the item in their possession now.  They would have likely removed it.
