Negotiating with a customer

Does ebay allow a seller to negotiate items and prices via ebay messaging prior to actually lisitng?  Then list as agreed as a buy it now?

I have been asked to do this and I do not know if it is allowed.

@kzeeeeeI often create custom listings for customers. We put a blurb on our store telling people that if they don't see something they're looking for, to please message us and if we have the item, we will create a listing.

As mentioned, just make sure all of your communications are done on ebay and that you complete the sale on ebay. Also, don't forget to factor in the shipping costs. I usually make my listing title include to zip code xxxxx. In the details, I add Shipping to zip xxxxx via fedex Ground (or whatever) so that everything is clear. Make sure every detail in your messaging is included in the listing you create. Best of Luck!
