Need some advice on what to do!

I have recently been asked by my employer to use my eBay account to sell items that he has for a % of the profit, I have never really sold anything on here before and I am scared that they are only wanting to do this so it's my account and I have to worry about the taxes at the end of the year... Should I turn down my new employer or will this be something that could actually help me at the end of the year? 

P.S. I am getting paid actual work hours to sell his items during work and getting 5% of the profit.
