Global Shipping Programme - 2 items only one reference number

Hi

Looking for advise from more experienced sellers.

An international buyer has purchased two items (different listings). He has paid for them both (including my postage charge) but when I come to print the packing label the two items are combined and there is only one reference number.

Q. Should I just pack the two items together using the one reference number? I thought that any item sold through the GSP had to be sent separately to the hub and could not be combined? or do I send the two parcles separately but with the same ref number? (does not feel right?)

Appreciate your response as the buyer has paid promptly and I want to get the package sent off
