Anyone else on MP get this "Your payouts are on hold. Update your account" thing?

Today I awoke to phone notifications, emails, and a red banner across my seller hub saying that ^.  I've been on MP for over a month now, after (fully) verifying my bank account when I registered, and receiving my payouts just fine.   But when I clicked on the hyperlink to do this "update" (whatever that meant) it just immediately went to a screen saying "You're all set!  Thanks for verifying your account."  I did it repeatedly, even logging out and back in, and the banner just stayed, plus an additional phone notification and email.  So I called customer service.  I usually luck out and get pretty good CSR's but this one was awful.  He kept contradicting himself about whether my payments were really on hold, and whether this notification junk would stop in "a few" hours or 24 hours.   And if I understood his bad English correctly, I never even needed to do anything; it was just some kind of verification automated between Ebay and my bank.  "Ma'am you needn't be concerned about that one" (why do ESL people always say "that one"?).   So why the heck stress out the seller if their involvement is not needed?  I have tried to maintain a positive attitude about the forced switch to MP, but if it's going to do stuff like this I will not be a happy camper.  You mess with my money, you mess with my emotions.
