Try another browser.  What you are describing isn't a thing, and there is no magic workaround.

If you can't get it to work, stick it somewhere where you could use the available "import from web" option like:

   http://www.imagevenue.com/host.php

You don't have to create account or log in, but do have to do a little workaround to get the real URL to just the image and not the page Imagevenue lands you on using the link they provide. You may have to edit your photo before uploading - the limit is 3mb. My 1600px eBay images are typically approx 750kb +/-250kb  (there is no need to be uploading 40MP 10-20mb images to eBay listings as they only use approx 2MP resolution)

  • Upload the image, and copy the resulting "Share with Friends via eMail or Instant Messenger (URL)" link in the last box at the bottom of the page to the clipboard. It will be something like:
    http://img18057.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=84036_SouthPark_
    Wedonttakekindlytoyourtypesinhere_122_915lo.jpg
  • Open a new tab, paste the URL in the address bar, and load that page.

  • Right click on the displayed image and copy it's location to the clipboard. That link will be something like:
    http://img28057.imagevenue.com/aAfkjfp01fo1i-3407/loc915/84036_SouthPark_
    Wedonttakekindlytoyourtypesinhere_122_915lo.jpg

That is the straight link to the image you can use in the eBay photo uploader.

If that doesn't work, PM me and I can upload your image to my webspace and provide you a link to use in the eBay uploader.

Here is what my testing has shown:

The number of thumbnail slots is contingent on browser width. When I have my browser open to 1024, all 12 slots show.

If I narrow my browser, the right column is cut off and only 8 thumbnails show.

When only 8 thumbnails show, I can decrease my font sizes and the page will shink so that all 12 show.  Use ctrl-minus and ctrl-plus on Windows browsers to shrink and enlarge the view inside the browser if all 12 thumbnails are not visible.

Testing? (just kidding 🙂

So display of reduced numbers of photo slots is a thing. I guess I was wrong. Will have to play with that myself and see.

From what you are saying, it isn't that browser UA sniffing or other JS detections of display properties is NOT causing the server to transfer a layout with less than 12 slots or causing client side scripts to suppress the additional slots, but that it is a viewport? issue, and the slots are over there on the side but not visible?

(maybe similar to the "right side is cut off" nature of the Seller Hub active listings page when viewed in Opera Mini on my phone - about half the columns show, no horizontal scroll, make the page mostly useless.)

I suppose if I knew what I was doing I could look at the page CSS and try to puzzle out the scripts and see grin
